So much love

First of all, yesterday was my first day back after spring break. Sunday night we got word that a big storm was coming. So instead of studying, I spent the night refreshing weather.com to try and figure out my chances of a snow day. Apparently the weather gods weren’t in my favor since I woke up to a delayed opening instead. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have a class until 10 anyways when school was opening for the day, so it looks like my exam will be on Friday after all. Enter the next 7 weeks of pure hell. That’s college, though, and I have something fun to do every weekend from now until summer so I’ll be living for those non-school days. Positivity: it’s all about the way you spin it.

 So much love

This is too tech-savvy for me

Also, i’m sure you’re all really curious about my running situation (kidding, you probably don’t actually really care but I feel the need to share anyways). Yesterday with the snow storm meant no practice. We were told to do 45-60 minutes of cardio on our own and naturally I was itching to run, snow or not. When I went to the training room, they shot me down. I was allowed to try the elliptical or the bike for a very short period of time (if you’ve been reading for awhile, you’ll know that those both hurt my knees) to see if my back felt okay. Well, 25 minutes later I was still pain-free and asked if I could run. Still no. Today I find out if I can even attempt a run, not even do the workout. Now I’m frustrated. The thing is, I’m listening. I could have gone off and run anyways but I didn’t. I went to yoga instead. I’m trying. I’m doing what I’m told. I’m going to do this right but it doesn’t make it any easier. When I was hurting it wasn’t difficult but now that I’m feeling back to normal, I am getting so antsy.

So much loveOkay back to the point of this post.

You all know by now how much I love receiving packages in the mail. Actually, I love getting mail, period. That’s probably the one good thing about birthdays. I could live without all the individualized attention; but who doesn’t like getting something in the mail with their name on it?

First, I won a giveaway over on Jocelyn’s blog. I was ecstatic since I never win giveaways. Like, ever. This one was for a 3-month subscription to Conscious Box which, according to her blog (and their website), is a monthly delivery of pure and sustainable products. In my box I got a lot of different things, some that I can see myself using, and some that I just probably won’t, quite honestly. But I thought I’d share some of the new-to-me products because I did get some interesting things!

So much love So much loveOkay, first, the box was really cute and compact and I felt like Mary Poppins pulling things out of it. It just kept coming! Inside the box was a whole bunch of different things from postcards to oatmeal to chocolate to lotion to fancy salts. There are some things I probably won’t try (like almonds, I’m not a nuts person) but others like the sun cups will be on my list of things that I’m going to add to my list of new foods.

Also on my doorstep when I got back from spring break was a birthday gift from the loveliest Caitlin. This girl gets my love for New England like nobody else and I cannot wait to hang out with her on my stomping ground this summer. Newport, here we come. But first I had to chow down on the most delicious chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. Seriously, this was absolutely incredible. It was still soft and I wish I had waited long enough to warm it up in the microwave really quickly because it would have tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. That good.

So much loveFor my birthday a few weeks ago I received an email from facebook saying she had sent me a gift. I’ve never known anybody to do that before so I was ecstatic and definitely felt pretty special afterwards. I just had to put in my shipping information and then Cheryl’s sent me my cookie along with a gift certificate for my next purchase (which I am already planning on using to buy myself another cookie… or five). If you’ve never tried one of their cookies before, do it. Now. You won’t regret it.

Basically I got a lot of blog lovin’ last week so this is my way of saying a big thank you to both Jocelyn and Caitlin. It’s hard not to feel pretty special after receiving packages like that.

Have you ever received a facebook gift?

Who had a snow day yesterday?
